THE HUMAN BEHIND HARMONIOUS HOUNDS
Hello! I’m Jade
My love of dogs started with our first family dog, a gorgeous Staffie named Deejay, the most loyal, wonderful boy. That dog is the reason I do what I do now.
Coming from an entertainment and media background, I made the decision for a complete career change and have never looked back. I have been working with dogs for over 10 years now. During that time I have been lucky enough to work for company’s such as the RSPCA as their behaviour and welfare advisor, Dogs trust, as a senior coach for the Kent dog school, Happy paws puppy rescue as their behaviourist and Raystede centre for animal welfare, caring for the dogs in the Kennels.

My journey to understand and learn about dogs has also taken me to volunteer with the SPCA in South Africa and at the Soi dog foundation in Thailand. I also endeavour to continuously educate myself and keep my training methods and dog behaviour knowledge up to date. I have achieved my BSc (hons) Degree in Animal behaviour and welfare and am a full member of The Professional association of canine trainers (PACT) and am an accredited Animal training instructor (ATI) with the Animal behaviour an training council (ABTC). I have also attended and have completed courses with the British college of canine studies, the Dog training college, the School of canine science, Absolute dogs, IMDT and more and I continue to do so.
I currently happily co exist with my beautiful girl Kea . Kea is an energetic, smart and super loving 6 year old Staffie.

our ethos
I am extremely welfare focussed, strictly only use up to date, science and reward based methods and will never put you or your dog in a position that would make you feel uncomfortable.
I believe training is a great way to build a bond between owner and dog. It is very important to train our dogs to prevent problem behaviours developing and to help treat small issues that can become a lot worse over time. I also believe training should include all the family and should be enjoyable, not just for the dog, but for the owner too. Dogs are wonderful loyal animals who give us unconditional love. We owe it to them to offer them the best chance of an enriching life and also to learn how to understand them better. |
